SMILE community action agency celebrated 50 years of service in Acadiana during a special gala. 

The organization says it’s still winning the war on poverty despite its past troubles.

The gala was held to recap SMILE’s history, prioritize its future, and celebrate its success.

Attorney Glenn Armentor and former senator and mayor of Opelousas Donald Cravins Sr. both gave keynote addresses.
