ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (KLFY)—The city of St. Martinville is now looking for a new police chief.
Chief Calder Hebert told the St. Martinville City Council on Oct. 3 that he was resigning from the post in order to pursue a business opportunity.
Hebert was appointed Interim Chief two years ago, after the resignation of former Chief Paula Smith, but was officially appointed chief just this past April.
It is unclear at this time who will be replacing Hebert.
After the council names the interim chief they will begin the search for a permanent replacement for the appointed position.
