On April 25, 2015 Chief Todd D’Albor of the Jennings Police Department requested the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations investigate a shooting involving an officer from the Jennings Police Department in Jefferson Davis Parish. The initial investigation revealed that on Friday, April 24, 2015, just before midnight, officers with the Jennings Police Department served a search warrant at a residence on Down Street in Jennings. As officers made entry into the residence, one of the officers shot 61-year-old Cleveland Myers of Jennings in the ankle. Meyers was transported to a hospital in Lafayette where he is being treated for his injuries. The Jennings Police Department is not releasing the name of the officer at this time. No officers were injured during this incident. The case remains under investigation.
