ST. CHARLES PARISH, La. (KLFY) Sunday morning at approximately 4:00 am, a Louisiana State Trooper was investigating a single vehicle crash on I-10 west in St Charles Parish on the Bonnet Carre Spillway bridge.
The Trooper had positioned his unit in the left lane with emergency lights activated, in order to protect the crash scene.
While outside of the unit, the Trooper observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed approaching his location.
The Trooper ran away from his unit as it was impacted from the rear by a Nissan Altima.
The driver of the Nissan, 30 year old Terrell Guillory, suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
After he was released, he was arrested for DWI (2nd Offense) and Reckless Operation.
The Trooper was not injured.
