Louisiana State Police would like to urge motorists to use caution and expect delays as they travel Interstate 10 eastbound from Lafayette to Baton Rouge this weekend.
Construction has Interstate 10 eastbound reduced to one lane at Grosse Tete. Troopers have also worked several crashes in the area that has added to the delays. Motorists traveling eastbound from Lafayette can take US 190 as an alternate route.
Louisiana State Troopers want to remind motorists that when traveling through a construction zone always follow posted speed limits especially when workers are present.
Additionally, make sure to leave adequate braking room between vehicles, traffic barriers, construction equipment, and workers. Through remaining vigilant and avoiding all distractions while behind the wheel, drivers can do their part to ensure the safety of everyone while on Louisiana roadways.
