As expected, heavy showers and storms are slowly moving into Acadiana this morning. So far, the activity outside of our area has produced warnings and reports of damage in parts of the state. The severe threat should stay low for Acadiana but damaging winds and/or a weak tornado is possible.
Rains could be heavy at times with much of the area receiving around 1″ to 3″ inches of rain. Some isolated areas may see over 4″ inches of rain this morning. Flash flooding is another concern to watch out for today. Do not cross any flooded roads you may encounter.
Looks like most of this activity will move out around 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, ending the severe and heavy rain threat. The afternoon looks warm and breezy but the humidity should begin to drop and become more comfortable.
