LAFAYETTE, La. (Claire Taylor/The Advertiser)- Stuller Inc. and a Scott company want the Lafayette City-Parish Council to waive more than $200,000 in local property taxes.

Stuller, the Lafayette jewelry manufacturer on Rue Louis XIV at Verot School Road, is seeking a $162,325 property tax exemption over eight years for an expansion expected to create six new jobs, according to its application.

Advance Products and Systems of Scott wants to be exempt from paying $60,146 over eight years for an expansion expected to create 12 new jobs, according to its application. 

The council is expected to consider the requests at its meeting at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 4.
