Jennings Police are searching for Anthony Duhon, A.K.A “TJ”, wanted for shooting another man.

The shooting happened early Saturday morning in the 1200 block of West Street in Jennings.

Duhon allegedly shot Steven Edwards multiple times as Edwards stood at the doorway of his own home.

The victim’s mother, Viney Edwards, says Duhon was a close family friend, “I thought he cared about Steven and me. I mean, what was he calling me ‘mama’ for? That was just a catch.”

Edwards was shot in the throat and in the leg. His leg had to be amputated in order to save his life.

“The doctor told me I’m lucky for him to be alive. I can accept his leg being cut off. But can Steven accept it being cut off? He won’t. Will he blame me for having it cut off? Because I gave the permission to save his life,” Said Mrs. Edwards.

She says her son getting shot is especially hard on her because she’s already lost two other sons– one of them, to gun violence, “It hurts me so bad to say that “TJ”, Anthony Duhon, did it. Because he knows what I went through. I lost two kids already. And then he put me through what he put me through the other night.”

Mrs. Edwards is now asking for the public’s help to find Duhon, and she says she only has one message for him, “Please turn yourself in, because you did that to Steven. He knows you did it. Turn yourself in. I’ll pay a reward to get you caught. I’m sorry, I have to get you caught. You broke my heart. You tried to hurt me again.”

If you have any information on Duhon’s whereabouts, call the Jennings Police Department at (337)-275-9002. Callers may remain anonymous.
