Lafayette Police are searching for a gunman who allegedly opened fire Sunday morning in the area of Jefferson and Cypress Street.

According to Police Corporal Paul Mouton, as officers arrived on the scene they discovered three victims.

The first victim, a 34 year old male from Rayne, suffered a single gunshot wound to the head and was transported to the hospital in critical condition, according to Mouton.

The second victim, a 22 year old male of Lafayette, was shot in the neck area and is in good condition, and the third victim, a 20 year old male from Grand Coteau, was shot once in the hand and is listed in good condition, police say.

Mouton said none of the victims could not provide police with any suspect information.

Police are now asking anyone with information on the shooting or the identity of the suspect to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
