NEW IBERIA, La. (KLFY)- UPDATE (12:42 p.m.)- The area has been reopened to traffic.

ORIGINAL: The New Iberia Police Department is investigating a suspicious package found at the intersection of Bank and Main streets.

The area has been blocked off as officers conduct their investigation near New Iberia’s main library branch and the department’s communication building.
