LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)- T.M. Landry College Preparatory made national headlines in recent years after videos of its student reading college acceptance letters from ivy league school racked up millions of views online.
In September, News 10 met with nearly a dozen parents, students and former teachers from T.M. Landry who all claimed the school’s co-founders Michael and Tracey Landry created a hostile work environment and doctored students’ college entry letters.
The group was reluctant to speak on camera, claiming the Landrys have power and political ties.

Today, The New York Times published its investigation into allegations against the school. Now, the the school’s famed has turned sour.

Letarchia Lewis pulled her daughter out of T.M. Landry earlier this year for some of the same claims made in The NYT’s report.
She spoke with CBS News after the allegations were made public.
“No parent wants to read that knowing that you trusted this man with your children,” she said. “And not only did he not teach you, not only did he not teach your children but he also was abusing other people’s children. So, I’m quite upset.”
One mother, who requested to remain anonymous, told News 10 that Mr. Landry altered her son’s college entry letter saying the student’s father “was abusive and his mother was addicted to meth.”
She said both statements on the letter are false.

Another parent claimed her son had to go back two grade levels at another school after leaving T.M. Landry.

Tonight, the prep school’s administration is holding an emergency meeting with its faculty.

This is a developing story.
