NEW ORLEANS (AP) — New Orleans police say a 16-year-old boy who fired gunshots into the air during a Mardi Gras Carnival parade has been arrested.
The New Orleans Advocate (http://bit.ly/2EPZTkE ) reports that no injuries were reported following the incident Thursday that caused screaming people to scurry and stopped the Knights of Chaos parade for about 20 minutes.
The gunfire occurred as a group of about 70 young people walked toward the underpass at St. Charles and Calliope, a popular spot for high school students to gather and watch their marching bands pass.
Police did not release the name of the teen because he is a minor. They also did not say what charges the teen might face, or if they recovered a weapon.
No further information was immediately available.
