Tensions were high Wednesday night in St. Landry Parish as school board members answered questions regarding what would become of $99 million in bond money.
About 100 people attended the meeting at North Central High School.
There was a discussion about two tax propositions that will be on the March 24 ballot took place.
One proposition would increase teacher salaries, while the other will be used to improve parish facilities.
Both must pass for either one to be put in place.
School Superintendent Patrick Jenkins believes this will help to bring positive change.
“This is something that is critical for the improvement of St. Landry Parish, our students as well as our faculty and staff.”
There will be another meeting next week at Northwest High School.
