LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – The Cajun Heartland State fair may have closed Saturday due to rain but the sun was able to shine on it Sunday to celebrate another successful year.
After being set up at the Cajundome for ten days, Sunday was the final day of the Cajun Heartland State Fair.
For two weeks families have enjoyed rides, music, food and much more.
“We are enjoying ourselves, having a blast,” said the Auzenne family.
The Auzenne family has been coming to the Cajun Heartland State Fair for almost 10 years.
“It keeps bringing me back every year, it’s exciting,” said the family, “The kids love it, I love it, we’re going to stay out here as long as we can.”
Although the weather didn’t cooperate the entire time the fair was in town, the Lajaunie family still made the most of it.
“We must have rode every ride three or four times,” said the Lajaunie family, “It’s a lot of fun, it’s a great atmosphere and this is definitely going to be one of our traditions.”
