LAFAYETTE, La. (The Advertiser)- The State Fire Marshal has given the go-ahead for T.M. Landry College Preparatory School to begin remodeling the interior of its new home in Lafayette to bring it up to state fire code — thus lifting a cease and desist order on construction.

However, the school is prohibited from occupying the building until construction is complete and passes state inspection, The Advertiser reported.

State Fire Marshal review planners approved the plans late Thursday afternoon for the occupancy change project for 3403 Moss St. submitted by Angelle Architects, for construction only.

“The release includes remaining deficiencies that will be allowed to be addressed during construction, which includes a plan review submission for a fire alarm system, among other things,” said Ashley Rodrigue, spokeswoman for the State Fire Marshal.
