Some bogus big bills are getting passed around the Acadiana area. 

Lake Arthur Police said 10, 20, 50 and 100 dollar bills are in the area.  

The money feels and smells real, police said. 

LAPD wants local businesses to be aware of this and to double-check transactions involving cash.

Authorities say a quick way to recognize the fake bills is the misspelling of the words United Sates of America, and not United States of America.
