SCOTT, La. (KLFY) – Three people are in critical condition and another is recovering with moderate injuries from a major crash involving a stolen car.

The incident happened around 1:00 this morning near the intersection of Brothers Road and Roper Drive.

Police Chief Chad Leger said the driver of car, Alfred Victor, 22, lost control while traveling “at a high rate of speed,” and crashed into a tree on the east side of the roadway.

Three of the occupants were ejected from the vehicle and transported to Lafayette General for further medical care.

The fourth occupant, who is a juvenile, left the scene and received treatment at the University Health Center for a fractured elbow and wrist.

Leger said that juvenile is only passenger officers were able to speak about the crash and identified Victor as the driver.

Victor, Tylon Morrison, and another juvenile are currently sedated in critical condition at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Morrison was riding in the front passenger seat and the two juvenile passengers were in the back seat.

Police have not yet cited or arrested anyone for the crash at this time.

Leger explained charges are pending until the “occupants have received a medical release and interviews occur.”
