At Miles Perret Cancer Center in Lafayette, a group of men and women come together all in the name of wellness.

Its because of a program called THRIVE 365.

Dr. Johnathan Thompson says its a cancer survivorship program that started about 2 months ago and will continue as needed.

The focus is to incorporate wellness by way of nutrition and exercise to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

“There’s been a lot of research published in the last few decades but more recently just showing that cardiovascular health is probably the most important aspect of …  that even translates over into cancer patients that have other factors that increase their risk of cardiovascular mortality.”

Plus a 2 year cancer survivor explains how the program has helped her.  Then a personal trainer who works with those who attend.

“The program provides a nutritionist which my diet has improved tremendously so I love working out with this group.”

“The first day after I left I remember thinking, I just felt, yeah I really enjoy working with them.”
