Two people were arrested Saturday in a March 13, 2015 fatal hit and run crash on LA 182 east of Jeanerette in which the victim was struck by two vehicles, neither of which stopped.

According to State Police Master Trooper Brooks David, Brian Timken, 46, of New Iberia, and Kayla Norris, 25, of Franklin, were booked into the St. Mary Parish Jail.

Timken was booked on counts of hit and run and obstruction of justice, while Norris was arrested for hit and run.

The crash took the life of 33-year-old Kista L. Sedotal, of Jeanerette.

Police said she was walking along the highway when she was struck by a westbound pickup truck. She was pronounced dead on scene by the St. Mary Parish Coroner’s Office.  Evidence from the scene and numerous calls and tips led state police to Timken, who they determined to be the driver of a Dodge Ram truck, one of the vehicles that hit Sedotal, David said. Timken fled the scene after impact.

Troopers also determined that sometime after Timken struck Sedotal, she was struck a second time by Norris, who was driving a 1996 Mercury Sable.  Norris also did not stop after the crash.
