MARTINVILLE, La. (KLFY)— Two have been arrested in St. Martinville after deputies say they were manufacturing crack cocaine.

According to Major Ginny Higgins, following an investigation into reports of illegal drug activity, undercover narcotics agents with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office purchased crack cocaine from a residence in the 100 block of Perkins Street.
Following the purchase, deputies then searched the residence with a warrant in the morning hours of Nov. 17.
Agents said during the search they located materials, supplies, and equipment used to make crack cocaine. Also recovered was powdered cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, hydrocodone, ecstasy, a loaded handgun and $7,000.Broderick Sylvester, 28, of St. Martinville was charged with:
- 1 count of Violation of Uniformed Controlled Dangerous Substance Law: Drug-Free Zone
- 1 count of Creation or Operation of a clandestine laboratory for the unlawful manufacture of a controlled dangerous substance
- 1 count of Possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II CDS (Cocaine)
- 1 count of Possession of Schedule III CDS (Hydrocodone)
- 1 count of Possession of Schedule I CDS (Marijuana)
- 1 count of Possession of Schedule I CDS (MDMA)
Andre Wiltz, 22, of Breaux Bridge was charged with:
- 1 count of Violation of Uniformed Controlled Dangerous Substance Law: Drug-Free Zone
- 1 count of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule II CDS (Crack Cocaine)
- 1 count of Possession of Schedule III CDS (Hydrocodone)
- 1 count of Possession of Schedule I CDS (Marijuana)
- 1 count of Illegal Carrying of Weapons (Possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS)
Following the arrests, the two men were booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. As of news time, no bond had been set.
