Two people died after the driver of a vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign Friday afternoon on La.Hwy 15 at the intersection of La. Hwy 133 in the community of Rhymes.

Shortly before 3:30 p.m., Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to the two-vehicle fatal crash

The preliminary investigation revealed that a car driven by 26-year-old Jade Abshire of Vidalia, La, was traveling north on LA 133.

At the same time, a pickup truck, driven by 45-year-old Ken Crawford of Mangham, La was traveling east on LA 15.

For unknown reasons, the car failed to stop at the intersection and was struck by the pickup in the driver’s side door.

Abshire and the passenger in the Civic, 45-year-old Arby Carter of Vidalia, La. were pronounced dead at the scene by the Richland Parish Coroner’s Office.

An investigation is on-going.
