Two people were stabbed Saturday afternoon at a convenience store in Delcambre, according to police who were called to the store just after 3 p.m.

On arrival, police say they learned that two people had been stabbed and a third received injuries from a fight.

The two people stabbed left the scene, accoriding to police, and had driven themselves to Abbeville General Hospital for treatment.

Both were treated and released

The third subject was transported to Iberia General Hospital by Acadian Ambulance.

Police say all persons involved have been identified and an investigation is ongoing with charges pending.

“We want all our residents to know that no Delcambre residents were involved or injured in this melee and we are on top of the incident and no danger to the community exists at this time,” police said.
