The State Fire Marshal’s Office arrested two teenagers for setting a vacant house on fire.
The 15-year-old boys were arrested Monday on one count each of simple arson and criminal trespass.
Both juveniles were released into the custody of their guardians.
It happened just after 5 p.m. Monday when the Eunice Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 200 block of Rodney Street.
According to the State Fire Marshal’s Office, the home had been vacant for a year following a previous fire.
After assessing the scene, investigators determined the fire was incendiary.
Through witness statements, it was learned three juveniles were seen leaving the home just before the fire was seen.
With the assistance of Eunice Police, two of the three juveniles were located and taken in for questioning.
Both teens admitted their involvement with the fire to investigators and were arrested.
Additional arrests are possible, investigators said.
