LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)- – Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash in 4600 Johnston Street.
Just before 5 p.m. Friday, officers responded to a major accident involving a car and truck that crashed into Princess Nails.
Three occupants inside the local business were taken to local hospitals, LPD spokesperson Cpl. Bridgette Dugas said.
Two suffered non-life threatening injuries and one is listed in stable condition, Dugas said.
It was a lucky call, but a terrifying ordeal.
“Several ladies were sitting in the salon getting their nails done and we heard a big screech,” on witnesses said.
It was the Camry smashing into the front of the building that first caused the shock, but it wasn’t over.
“By the time we turned around, the truck barreled into the side of the building and we barely missed it,” another witness said.
Both vehicles were traveling down Johnston when the crash occurred. Police say the Camry made an improper turn in front of the truck.
“The silver car turned into the brown truck. He was blowing his horn the whole time. She had no turn signal on. He ran straight into her her,” a witness who watched the crash as his happened it said. “He tried his hardest to miss her, but she pushed him straight into the building.”
The driver of the Camry has been cited for improper turn. The driver of the truck was cited for insurance violation.
Impairment is not believed to be a factor, police said.
Circumstances surrounding the accident is being investigated by LPD Traffic Division.
