WWII Veteran and Louisiana native John L. Collins, Jr., will be laid to rest Thursday in Gretna, La.
In preparation for his funeral, U.S. Honor Flag founder Christopher Heisler will personally make the trip to Louisiana for this special opportunity to pay the highest honors for a man that has been known as a Hero.
“As a combat wounded veteran myself, this is an opportunity that we could not ignore. We have honored thousands of veterans, however this is the first funeral for a WWII Veteran. We are very grateful for the opportunity to Honor John Collins Jr. with the USHF and to share this Honor with his family. “ Heisler said.
The event is being hailed as another historic milestone for the U.S. Honor Flag which has flown at ground zero, and been present at over 1000 events, memorials and other tributes to honor America’s finest who have paid the ultimate price.
Its the first time a WWII Veteran will be provided with the very special national honor during his funeral.
