U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke will be in the Hub City to announce funding for states to support parks and outdoor recreation.

Secretary Zinke, along with Mayor-President Joel Robideaux, Senior Goverment Affairs Manager Kyle Simpson and State Natural Resources Director Jason Lanclos will visit Acadiana Park to make the announcement.

Funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund are derived from outer continental shelf lease revenues and are awarded through federal matching grants.

In the past, the city and parish of Lafayette has benefited greatly from the LCWF assistance, receiving just over $2 million in grants.
