LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – A candlelight vigil was held tonight for a UL Lafayette international student who was killed in a crash on Johnston Street Sunday morning.
The university also lowered its flag to half-staff in memory of 24-year-old Rustam Nizamutdinov.
Nizamutdinov, a native of Uzbekistan, was working as an undergraduate research assistant.
The vigil for the Nizamutdinov was hosted at 6 p.m. by the Department of Petroleum Engineering, the field he was majoring in, outside of Madison Hall.
