The University of Louisiana at Lafayette will celebrate Women’s History Month beginning next week with a series of events.

UL-L’s annual Women’s Conference will happen Wednesday, March 9th from 8 am to 3 pm at the Cajundome Convention Center.

Speakers from the university, government, businesses and law enforcement will hold presentations throughout the day to discuss a variety of topics, including finances, health and leadership.

Dr. Kim Hunter-Reed will be the keynote speaker.

The conference is open to the public. Cost is $50. Students can attend for $25.

Oliver Hall auditorium will host a documentary film screen on Sunday, March 13th at 3pm, followed by a panel discussion.

The award-winning film, “She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry,” chronicles the history of the modern women’s movement in the United States between 1966 and 1971.

This free event is also open to the public.

Finally, the University’s Center for Louisiana Studies will host “LA Femme/Women of Louisiana: A Symposium” on Wednesday, March 16 at the Paul and LuLu Hilliard University Art Museum’s A.
