UPDATE: Roads opened up around 5 p.m. Officials with the Lafayette Haz-Mat team report that the FedEx truck was carrying poison, which spilled during the crash. According to officials, everything has been cleaned up and it is now safe to travel.

Lafayette Police are on the scene of a crash at Ambassador Caffery and Dulles.
The crash happened shortly before 10 a.m. Friday morning. The accident involved a FedEx truck and a small car.
Lafayette Police is currently working a major accident in the 2300 block of Ambassador Caffery. One vehicle involved is leaking a possible hazardous liquid. Please avoid the area. Police say there are injuries but none are critical.
