UPDATE: Police have captured the suspect, Marcellus Prier.  He was found hiding in a nearby home in a trailer park.  Both schools are no longer on lock down.

A Broussard elementary school is on lock down as authorities search for a violent suspect. 

Broussard Middle and Katharine Drexel Elementary School has been locked down as a precautionary measure as police search for the suspect. 

 Broussard Police Chief, Brannon Decou, says the suspect is Marcellus Prier.  He was stopped by the Lafayette Marshall’s office near the school when he fled on foot.

Police say he is considered Armed and Dangerous.
