UPDATE: Crowley Police have made an arrest in a mid-day bank robbery that happened Wednesday at IberiaBank in the 300 block of North Parkinson Avenue.  

According to Police Chief Jimmy Broussard, 30-year-old Joshua Jenkins of Church Point was arrested by detectives with the Crowley Police Department. 

Jenkins was transported to the Acadia Parish Jail Facility and has a bond set at $500,000.

CROWLEY, La. (KLFY)- The Crowley Police Department is at the scene of a robbery at IberiaBank this afternoon.

According to Crowley Police Chief Jimmy Broussard, just before 12 p.m. a man walked in and placed a note on the teller counter demanding money. Once he was handed an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled the bank on foot. 

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is assisting with the investigation. 

Police have a person of interest in custody. He were detained around 8th Street and Avenue G.  Officers are reviewing security footage this afternoon, Chief Broussard said. 

The bank is currently closed as officers continue their investigation.
