Earlier on Tuesday, the driver of an 18 wheeler hauling plastic pallets struck the guard rail.
Police say the rig then burst into flames.
The driver escaped with no injuries, according to police.
ORIGINAL: Traffic congestion is approximately 3 miles, according to State Police.
A truck on fire on Eastbound I-10 is backing up traffic.
Authorities say it happened at mile marker 117.
Traffic is being diverted from I-10 east to I-49 north, and from I-49 to U.S. 190 East.
No injuries have been reported at this time, and no time frame has been given for when the interstate will be reopened.
