LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)- UPDATE: Michael “B.J.” OBryan Jr. was arrested at about 11:15 a.m. today by members of the Vermilion Parish Narcotics Task Force and detectives.
He was found in an Abbeville apartment complex and taken into custody with incident, the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
OBryan will be taken back to the Lafayette Parish Correction Center on charges stemming from Tuesday’s pursuit.
ORIGINAL STORY: The search is underway for an Abbeville man who fled on foot after a high-speed chase from Lafayette.
While Lafayette Parish deputies were conducting a traffic stop, a vehicle carrying three occupants fled the scene.
The pursuit ended in Vermilion Parish near Indian Bayou.
During the chase toward Vermilion Parish, weapons were reportedly thrown out of the vehicle, Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman John Mowell said.
With the assistance of the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office, two suspects identified as Paula Viator, 31, of Erath and Joshua Rogers, 31, of Kaplan, have been arrested and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
As of 5 p.m., one suspect, Michael “BJ” OBryan Jr., of Abbeville, remains at large after fleeing from the vehicle on foot.
During their search, deputies found additional contraband inside in the vehicle, Mowell said.
Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon says that additional patrol and unmarked units are in the area providing additional patrol for those residents.
