LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY)- A woman who was arrested last week after she posted a video of a high school fight on Facebook will not face charges.
Keith Stutes, 15th Judicial District attorney, told The Daily Advertiser that 32-year-old Maegan Adkins-Barras was not affiliated with the crime itself, therefore should not face criminal charges.
“The spirit and the letter of the offense require the person to be charged to be either a principal or accessory to the crime contained in the images obtained by an image recording device,” Stutes said.

Adkins-Barras was arrested by the Scott Police Department on Feb. 20 after she reportedly posted video footage of a disturbing fight between two students at Acadiana High on Facebook.
She was booked on one count of Unlawful Posting of Criminal Activity for Notoriety and Publicity.
She was released from the Lafayette Correctional Center on a misdemeanor summons the following day. Today, Stutes said prosecutors will not pursue the case.
The two teens involved in the fight are facing criminal charges.
Adkins-Barras said prosecutors were cooperative with her attorneys, which include Kevin Stockstill, L. Clayton Burgess and California-based attorney Brian Carlin.
“Thanks for all your support and well wishes,” she told News 10.
