UPDATE: New Iberia Police have identified the man who crashed his motorcycle inside the local Walmart Tuesday.
Video from the scene showed the suspect crashed into a display of merchandise before coming to a rest.
Richard Darby Jr. was arrested at the scene and taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation.
Police say they received a call around 4:30 p.m. Monday in reference to a male riding a motorcycle in a reckless manner on Hopkins Stret and Admiral Doyle.
They say as Officers were responding to this incident, another complaint was made about a male who had entered the Walmart while riding a motorcycle.
Charges are pending, police said.
No injuries were reported.
ORIGINAL: New Iberia Police say a motorcyclist was arrested after he crashed his bike inside the local Walmart store on East Admiral Doyle Drive.
According to Captain John Babin, no one inside the store was injured.
The motorcyclist, according to Babin, was not serioulsy injured however has been taken to a local hospital for an evaluation.
Following the evaluation, Babin said, he will be booked into the Iberia Parish jail.
The store will remain open.
