UPDATE: The second suspect has been arrested in the shooting death of local boxer, Brandon Broussard.
Carlos Toby, 38, was extradited from Texas and booked into the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office on a second degree murder charge.
Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman John Mowell said the investigation is ongoing.

Broussard was shot to death October 14, at a home in the 300 block of Grossie Lane.
Earlier today, detectives arrested 41-year-old Shavis Toby of Vermilion Parish and charged him with second degree murder.

Mowell said Toby was arrested in New Iberia with assistance from the Lafayette Parish Swat Unit and the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Toby was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on a $500,000 bond.
A second suspect is in custody out of state, according to Mowell.
His name will not be released until he is in custody at the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
