UPDATE: Lafayette Police say the victim of last night’s shooting on Morse Street has died.

Authorities identified the victim as Lance Hudson, 32, of Lafayette.

Police spokesperson Karl Ratcliff said detectives are currently “pursuing many active leads.”

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Lafayette Police are investigating a shooting that happened late Tuesday evening in the 300 block of Morse Street.

Officers responded to the scene at 9:15 p.m. and found the 32-year-old male victim unresponsive inside of a vehicle.

According to Spokesman Karl Ratcliff, the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

The investigation continues as police work to identify a suspect.
