ABBEVILLE, La. (KLFY) — Jean Broussard, President of the Vermilion Parish School Board (District E), has announced that he will step down from his role.

It happened at the very end of the regular School Board meeting on Wednesday night.

Broussard announced to KLFY that the decision was made recently and that it was for personal and health reasons.

His resignation comes a little more than a year after former Board President Anthony Fontana submitted his resignation, after a teacher was removed because she objected to a raise for the superintendent.
