UPDATE:

Police have identified the two Lafayette men who were involved in a fatal shooting earlier today.
Cpl. Paul Mouton has identified the victim as Edmond Joseph Brown, 46.
The suspect, Todd Hebert, 58, turned himself into police around 5 p.m., about an hour and a half after the shooting.
Hebert has been arrested on the charge of Second Degree Murder. The case remains under investigation.ORIGINAL STORY
One man is now dead and a suspect is in custody after a shooting in the 100 block of Alfred Street, according to the Lafayette Police Department.
Cpl. Paul Mouton said the two men were arguing in the street when one of them pulled out a gun and shot the other.
The incident happened around 3:21 p.m. Monday. The victim died at the scene and the shooter ran away.
Detectives have the shooting suspect in custody and are currently interviewing him at the police department, according to Cpl. Mouton.
