The 2019 African American Heritage parade rolled through Lafayette Sunday afternoon paying tribute to African American trailblazers past and present.
The theme, Let Freedom Ring, Peace and Unity in the Community.
Hercules Granger was this year’s Grand Marshal.
The parade through the community near J. Wallace James Elementary School and ended at the Super 1 Foods on the Evangeline Thruway.
