LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Ragin’ Cajun fans are saying goodbye to baseball season and hello to the upcoming football season.
Many teams across the nation are hitting the gym early for their usual summer workouts, but the Ragin’ Cajuns are gaining national exposure for their not so normal workout routine.
The team posted a video of them working out that has now gone viral. The video shows their coach walk over the team as they chant the Ragin’ Cajun fight song.
The viral video was filmed by an intern after workouts Friday.
Senior defensive lineman Karmichael Dunbar said the video is an example of a regular day for the Cajuns.
“It’s just regular stuff we always do, so it wasn’t a big deal for us really.”
The star of the show, Coach Lewis Caralla said the video is a prime example of the team’s hard work and dedication.
“Everyday there’s a competition, it’s bonding, it’s finishing as a group altogether.”
The video has over 20 thousand retweets, 12 million shares and was even mentioned on ESPN. Caralla said it’s great to see other schools appreciate their hard work.
“Five schools have already tagged us in a tweet of them doing it to their school. It’s catching fire, but its fun to see other schools appreciate it and try it out.”
Football season kicks off September 3rd.
