YOUNGSVILLE, La. (KLFY) – Acadiana has just passed the 100-day mark of the historic August flooding.

While many have moved back into their homes, others are just doing so only to see flooding again over the weekend.

On Larriviere Road, one of the hardest hit areas in Youngsville over the weekend as the rains fell flooding the roads.

Mayor Ken Ritter says this road was barricaded off just yesterday but is now open despite high water on some of the road.

The mayor held a press conference today to address flooding concerns in Youngsville.

He says the city had 20 inches of rainfall over the weekend with the majority of rain falling early Sunday.

The city along with the new public works department has been assessing the drainage situation since the august flooding, according to Ritter.

Despite a large amount of rain over the weekend, Ritter says only three houses in Youngsville actually took in water.

Many August flood victims say they were worried as the waters continued to rise Saturday into Sunday.
