WELSH, La. (KLFY)— A Welsh man arrested after deputies respond to a disturbance call, authorities said.

According to a news release, the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call on the 14000 block on Payton Road in Welsh.

Deputies said as they approached the residence they observed a mile exit a vehicle and run. Deputies began to search for the man and say trailed him back to the residence which reported the complaint.

A spokesperson with the sheriff’s office said it was discovered at the residence was a female victim who had stated she had been battered by her boyfriend, Ocean Lemonia. The victim also allegedly stated Lemonia also kicked her car door causing damage to it.

Authorities said they located Lemonia a short time later in the residence and placed him under arrest.

Ocean Wade Lemonia, 22, of Welsh was charged with simple battery, resisting an officer, public intimidation, flight from an officer, simple criminal damage to property and possession of marijuana.

Lemonia was booked into the parish jail without bond.
