Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s office received a complaint in February of a reported rape of a 14-year-old juvenile. The incident was reported by the victim to have occurred in November 2018 near a bridge in Welsh. 

The subject, Michael Lynn Prudhomme III, 18, of Leblanc Street, in Welsh, was arrested Wednesday, April 10, by detectives on a warrant for third degree rape. 

Prudhomme is being held in the parish jail with no bond.

Prudhomme was previously arrested January 26, 2019 for simple criminal damage to property, aggravated assault on a peace officer with a firearm, and contempt of court.
