SCOTT, La. (KFLY)— September 30, was the opening night of Louisiana’s number one haunted trail, and it’s located right here in Acadiana.
Fright Trail is celebrating their fifth year of fright and invites you to come and find out what pops up in the night.
Right on Cameron Street in Scott when the sun goes down the creatures of the night begin to lurk at Louisiana’s number one haunted trail.
We asked some visitor’s how the walk was, “Scary, really scary,” Said Shelby McBride, “My heart is racing. That was really freaky and this is my second year. This year is definitely worse and very scarier.”
The Trail consists of 20-acres of haunted woods. This year they are celebrating their fifth year of fear.
“Oh, we love it,” said the Alfred Family, “he kept the hood on the whole time. It was definitely creepy, we enjoyed it.”
Not only does the trail provide a good scare, it also partners with a local non-profit called Literacy Inc. which has been fighting the growing illiteracy rate in Louisiana.
Deborah, the founder of the non-profit group said the Fright Trail has helped her give back to the community.
“So I started Literacy Inc. to get books in the school,” Said Deborah, “and not it’s getting IPad into the school. We were able to do 150 at Comeaux last year and 200 at Acadiana High. So our hopes are to keep going, increase that number this year.”
Guest of all ages are welcome to go to Fright Trail.
The trail is open Friday’s and Saturdays throughout the month of October from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m.
The trail will also be open Halloween weekend Friday through Halloween night.
