High winds early Saturday morning tore through St.Mary Parish leaving many with major clean up work to do, including the owner of a hotel in Morgan City where parts of the roof of the building was ripped.
According to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office, a portion of the roof flew off at the Plantation Inn hotel off US 90.
Other parts of the roof collapsed due to several downed power lines.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
An employee at the Plantation Inn told KLFY Saturday that guest were asleep in their rooms when the storms hit the area, and that fortunately no injuries were reported.
The building was immediately evacuated, the employee said, and will remain closed until the damage is repaired and the hotel is safe to re-open.
