OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY)- Two siblings have been charged after a Feb. 9 shooting at a party that appeared to be retaliation for a break-up.

Rayonna Smith and her brother Michael White are facing charges after multiple shots were fired at a party on Christ the King Road in the Opelousas area.

When detectives arrived, they located a 2003 Toyota Tacoma with several bullet holes on the outside of the vehicle,  St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz said.

Detectives then found a 2008 GMC Sierra with several bullet holes on the outside as well as the inside of the vehicle. Recovered at the scene were (26) 9 mm shell casings.

Two victims were found at the scene and were taken to the Sheriff’s Public Safety Complex. “One of the victims said he broke up with his ex-girlfriend Rayonna Smith and ever since then she has tried to get her brother, Michael White to harm him,” Guidroz said.

The victim stated that he and the other victim arrived at a party on Christ the King Road in two separate vehicles with some girls and noticed Rayonna Smith at the party, authorities said.

All parties reportedly did see each other, but did not engage each other until later down the road in their vehicles, authorities said.

“The driver was identified as Rayonna Smith and her older brother Michael White was in the passenger side. White then stepped out of the white Impala and began auguring with the ex-boyfriend of Smith,” Guidroz said.

White then reached into the Impala and allegedly grabbed a pistol then began firing in his direction. The victims then fled in their vehicles while being shot at.

Shortly after the shooting, another victim called Smith who said they were “at the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Warrants were issued for Smith and White. Detectives arrested Smith on February 13, 2019, and are searching White. Michael White’s last known address is 468 Napoleon Ave. in Sunset and should be considered armed and dangerous. He faces four counts of attempted first degree murder, one count of felony in possession of a firearm, and two counts of aggravated criminal damage to property.
