An Alabama woman has died after an early morning accident.
State Troopers said it happened just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday at Belle Chasse Highway and Villary Street.
Police say 23 year old Megan Manning was walking in the roadway when she was hit by a Ford F250, driven by 65-year-old Dean Thomas of Marrerro.
Investigators believe Manning was impaired at the time of the crash and toxicology tests are pending an autopsy.
Troopers added Thomas was given a breathalyzer test, and was found to be over the legal limit.
Thomas was booked into the Plaquemines Parish Jail on vehicular homicide charges.
