UPDATE:  Police say a 22 year old male was transported to a local hospital after he was shot multiple times Monday evening.

The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Surrey Street, Public Information Officer Karl Ratcliff said.

No suspect information has been obtained and no witnesses have come forward at this time, according to Ratcliff.

Police say there are still questions about the exact location of the shooting, and therefore ask that anyone with information about the incident or any individuals involved to contact the Lafayette Police Department or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) We are following breaking news out of North Lafayette where a man in his early 20’s was found shot near the intersection of Surrey Street and Louisiana Avenue.

Public Information Officer Karl Ratcliff says investigators are currently at the scene.

According to Ratcliff, the victim has been transported to a local hospital where his condition is unknown at this time.

No suspects have been identiifed, according to Ratcliff and so far no eyewitnesses have come forward with any information.
