NEW ORLEANS – Three Marines have been arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a Tulane student and her friend earlier this month.
The suspects were identified as 18-year-old Antonio Landrum (third-degree rape), 20-year-old Alexander Davenport (first-degree rape), and 18-year-old Jared Anderson (first-degree rape).
All three work at Marine Forces Reserve in Algiers.
The incident occurred early Sunday morning April 15 in the 5100 block of South Claiborne Avenue. The Tulane student and her friend reported they met two people at an Uptown business and later went to the student’s residence, police say.
A short time later, a group of males known to the two people the victims met, arrived and engaged in unwanted acts with them, according to police.
The group later left.
Landrum’s rank is Private First Class, he is assigned to Marine Forces Reserve Force Headquarters. Anderson’s rank is Lance Corporal, he is also assigned to Marine Forces Reserve Force Headquarters. Devenport’s rank is Lance Corporal, he is assigned to the logistics group at Marine Forces Reserve.
